the mortgage says "no signs of termites", they did a preventative treamtent with a 5 year warranty. Well, I took the 1/8" wood paneling off and it was bad, real bad. I basically need to replace the front corner of my house and a good part of the side. do I have any recourse? besides burning house down? homeland security, that was a joke, I know they're watching

  1. I would make the company that warrantied it for 5 years come back, and be responsible for all the damages caused. You thought you were protected, when you weren't. If I were you I would be mad with them. That's their job, what they are trained to do, not yours. Best of luck!

  2. That five year warranty might be your salvation, but read the fine print.  Many "warranties" aren't worth the paper they're written on.  My experience with termite warranties is that in order for them to be honored the homeowner has to have that company come out every year and inspect and treat, etc.  Your mileage may vary.
