ok im tired of ppl jus sayin 'get a mac' whenever there is a pc questoin. be helpful not an *** hole. as for the touchpad, for my dell my touchpad stopped working when i tried to upgrade my graphics driver. it could also be part of ur touchpad driver. both should be available on hp's website. id ask for technical support if ur not good at this stuff tho. they will walk u through it.
