My only problem is choosing a location. We have been to most of the states and have done PLENTY in the US and have gone to Mexico and Puerto Rico. We don't want to go anywhere we have been before.

I was thinking I wanted to go to Greece and Italy but now I am thinking I might just want to go to Hawaii. Also, the thought of going to Costa Rica sounds very inviting.

If someone could give me some suggestions and keep it within my price range I would be grateful. Personal experiences would be great. But I am just looking for ideas for travel that time of year.

  1. hawaii sounds real good ...

you may not want to go to europe because of the strong euro. What about jamaica ?

  2. With 10,000 dollars you could definitely do alot.  In Europe, you could do pretty well, but it's extremely expensive, especially if you're looking to stay in nice hotels. If you want your money to stretch the furthest in one of the nicest places in the world, go to Buenos Aires, Argentina, no question. It's unbelievably cheap there, and it's definitely the Paris of South America.  Beautiful people, CHEAPPPPPPPP, im talking REALLY cheap... amazing food, gorgeous architecture, great weather, and possibilities for travel all throughout Argentina.  To give you an estimate of what it's like, I went there in Jan for 1 month with $1300.  With that 1300, I rented a bed in a youth hostel for one month, took a trip to Uruguay, ate at VERY nice restaurants 4x per week, went out EVERY night, purchased numerous bottles of fine wine, ate more delicious food, went to the dentist twice, bought loads of medicine for my aching wisdom tooth, gave money to homeless people, and more, more more.  I basically lived like a king on a 1400 budget for an entire month.  However, one of your biggest expenses might be hotel.  I only paid 7 bucks a night for the bed in the youth hostel, so obviously it was pretty cheap.  You could even rent a very nice apartment in Argentina for 3 weeks for about $400 and use that as your base and travel around Argentina.  The average Argentine who's doing well makes about 2000 pesos per month.. thats rougly 660 dollars.  If you want to have an amazing time in a very nice cosmopolitan city and beautiful country without even having to worry about finances, Argentina is the place for you.

  3. Go To the Philippines and stay at Club Paradise for a few days and Aman Pulo for a few days.

  4. If you've been to most of the states, might as well turn it loose in Hawaii. Definitely not like the other 49 states.

  5. I guess Australia or New Zealand are out of your price range? Both are great places to visit.
