  1. Most posts only offer 2 days of family time. The day before the graduation and the day of then your soldier will be transferred across post to his AIT unit. BTW your soldier usually has to back on post by 5pm the night before graduation and 6pm on the day of graduation

  2. is he is OSUT he won' get anything until the END of AIT except maybe Family Day.

and even if he isn't OSUT, he will go directly to his follow on school immediuately.

  3. whats the question?

  4. after bootcamp he will have 10 days to relax before me going to his MOS

  5. you will be glad you went even if for one day, think of that one day more for him then you, he has been working hard and i bet he wants to see you and your daughter even if just for one day.

  6. If you can, try and visit him while he is in the school. My fiancee is currently attending Bio med repair school in the midwest. Its a 14 months school and I'm staying back home. I went to visit him last month for a week and it was the greatest thing ever. I didn't get to really see him too much but when I did, I was just so happy. 14 months is a really long time so any time in between I don't take for granted. I know the Navy gets a week of leave before starting a class after attending boot camp but Im not sure about the army.

  7. don't listen to any of these people, u need to go!!! He has worked really hard to get thought this and he needs u by his side, It is really sad to see soldier have no one after he finishes graduation. my hubby is doing basic there also and I am coming from california also and it is hard with a little one but he is doing far more for both of you, SO GO!!!!

  8. Depends on starting dates for AIT and what school he's going for. Mainly, you are the mercy of the Great Eagle and the Great Eagle usually takes a dump on everything you're in the middle of. Hang tight, you should get more info about the middle of Sept.

  9. No. He should be immediately reporting for his AIT. I wouldn't waste my money trying to visit him. Wait 'til he gets assigned to his unit.

  10. BS.  Generally, a day isn't going to be a problem.  The staff/DS at these OSUT bases are used to the family visits and encourage them for moral.  One day doesn't sound like much but to your hubby, it will be a day to remember.

I say GO, be with him as his life, as is yours is pretty stressed.  Nothing like gettin' the hormones racing, even if it's just a day.

If the Drill Sergeants know you have family coming to visit, more than likely he'll be granted a pass on the weekend near or right before the start of his training.  He just needs to inform them and request the time off.  These passes can be overnight.

  11. No he won't have anytime off.  He has not been in long enough to earn leave.  But he may be able to borrow leave if there is any time between graduation and start of his AIT.  But usually they don't.  Go anyway.  It is an emotional time for him too.  He would love to see both of you.
