He waxed the whole car and it looks so great! But now the windshield glare is driving me crazy. Is there something easy that I can clean it off with so he does not know, and I can see again ?

  1. Windshields cannot be waxed & never use anything that's abrasive or hard to clean it, if you do, you'll get those glare when you drive at night & probably end up having to replace the whole screen. Use warm soapy water with a little ammonia to remove the wax, then polish up with some Rain-X, this will make rainwater slide off the screen easily & you'll hardly need to use those windscreen wipers... works better than wax without the glare.

  2. Both the answer above are good.  If they don't work, go to an auto part store and ask for a product that strips wax.  One product is Prep-sol (sp?).

  3. It might be screwed if the wax messed up the anti-shatter plastic on the exterior of the windshield.

Otherwise you might be able to just soak it really good with windex and wipe it off.

Good luck, otherwise - start shopping for a good deal on windshield replacement (it's usually not that expensive, and a lot of places will come to your house and do it).

And then tell hubby not to wax your windshield again (although a lot of car wash stuff has wax built in, so it might have been unintentional - I don't use that kind).

    Good luck!!

  4. soap, water and a little amonia.

  5. Dawn dishwashing liquid, cuts not only grease but wax too, don't use it to wash your car lol.

  6. it might be that he didn;t remove it all, try a clean cotton rag, and windex..

  7. use 000 steel wool from the hardware store.

  8. Baking soda & water> soft sponge>  Change the wiper blades> Or the wax will be put back on>

  9. Dawn dishwashing soap (the blue stuff)
