  1. My husband adopted my son. I would have an attorney handle this. Its too important to handle by yourself. Good luck getting the bio father to sign. We had to hunt ours down. He was always convinced we were just setting him up to get arrested. (he had some trouble with the law).

  2. Yes of course you do

  3. unless there is a lawyer on answers i believe i would talk to one about it. adoption is not something to take a answer from just anyone. good luck

  4. depends upon the state, and if the biological father's name is on the birth certificate, regardless if he signed it or not.  If you named him on the certificate in many states, then you must get his permission.

  5. It depends on the laws for your state, but if your husband isn't listed as the father on your daughter's birth certificate then you need the permission of whoever the biological father is.  In Michigan, the law is you have to be married for a year before your husband can adopt your child and the biological father has to give his consent.  Start with your local Department of Human Services.  They can point you in the right direction.

  6. I wouldnt go that far as to have him adopt her and have full legal rights. Marriage doesnt always last and you dont want a nonparent having rights to take your child from you ..and whos to say he will be there for her entire life if you divorce..it could mess her up
