My husband and 11 yr old chil are going to dubai for a week and were trying to work out how much we will need?

It amazes me when people ask this question.  There are so many different possibilities.

1. What kind of budget are you on?

2. Do you want to eat at the hotel or dine elsewhere?

3.Will you be renting a car?

4. Do you plan on drinking? (Alcohol)

5. Are you planing on staying in a 5 star hotel on the beach?

6. What activities are you wanting to do?

For me to have a good time I would want to stay at a hotel on the beach ( $300 a night, at least), I would want a "nice" dinner at least twice ($500) other dinners ($500) take kid to Wild Wadi or Ski Dubai ($175 either) taxi's are pretty cheap.  Just bring enough to have a good time.  You can eat out on the cheap if desired, but the hotels of course are a bit expensive.  Alcoholic drinks are expensive no matter where you go.  Example; any beer about $7.50 cheapest bottle of wine you will find is $43.  You'll have fun

Ok, you'll need money for plane fare, taxis, hotel, and food, plus any shopping you may want to do.  Dubai's exchange rate at this time is 3.5 durham to 1 US dollar.
