We both want and have been TTC for a few weeks now but its hard to keep track of when im ovulating do to irregular cycles. Is there any way to do so without having to buy a fertility monitor or those ovualtion sticks? If it would be better for me to get those I will I just need some advice. This will be baby 1 for me and 3rd for him(he has 2 boys, oldest is 13 and youngest will be 12 soon). Thanks for any and all advice.

  1. I've recently stopped my BC and we are TTC also. I have a calendar that I mark the days of my cycle and I use a digital ovulation kit (ClearBlue Easy). It tells you when to start testing based on the days of your cycle and is very easy to read. I mark the calendar when it says I'm ovulating and we go from there. Just coming off BC kinda sucks though because of irregular periods, but we wanted to try ASAP. Good Luck with everything!

  2. Like you, I also have irregular cyles which make it impossible to track your fertility and ovulation.

My doctor recently prescribed Provera to make my cycles regular.  That way, I can track when I can conceive.

I'm also about to try using OPK.  I've heard good things about it.  Also, do your BBT.  Go to fertilityfriend.com.  This website helps you understand your cycle.

    Good Luck and Baby Dust!

  3. Taking your body BBT (basal body temperature) everyday starting with the last day of your period. You can do this with any Themother. You have to take your temperature in the morning before you get out of bed. when you are ovulating your temperature will slightly go up. Other than that i reccomend buying an OPK - ovulation predictor
