My husband and I are planning to go to Casa Loma this long weekend, what should we do about food?

Do they have restaurants in the castle? Is the food expensive? Are we allowed to bring our own food?

There is a cafateria there also you are close to Spadina and there are restaurants there also.

You could bring some sandwiches or chicken whatever and relax in the beautiful gardens they have there.  They are breath taking.

It's a tourist spot so I'm sure food is a little more expensive then fast food restaurants.   I'm sure you can take your own food to eat outside but not inside.

There is a cafeteria in the basement (at least when I went). I have food allergies and couldn't eat anything there, but I believe they serve the "usual" fare like sandwiches, soup, hamburgers, etc. If I do recall, the food would be considered expensive, but there are a small number of items that are reasonable. I would bring about $20 for a lunch for 2. You may only use half of that, but I would be prepared to pay more regardless.

You can technically bring your own food as long as you keep it in your bag and do not take it out while touring the castle. No food or drink is allowed at that point.

I do not recall if there were any benches in the basement, but I am sure the cafeteria probably won't let you bring your own lunch and sit for free. Then again, I don't think the cashier would really make a big deal either.

Personally, if I were you, I'd bring a bag lunch and eat outside where it's beautiful, or head to a nearby restaurant if you don't want to eat in the cafeteria.

If you have a serious reason why you have to bring your own food (i.e. special diet like me), then you may be able to call ahead and arrange for a special spot somewhere. Otherwise, it's not really a big deal.

Why not just eat before you go ?
