My husband and I are trying to conceive or even may be pregnant... any advice?

My last period ended June 17th. We had s*x without a condom the first week of July, 3 times, assuming I ovulated then and I still haven't gotten my period. HPT shows negative when I tested twice last week. When should I test again? Also, I am very irregular after getting off the pill last July. However, it seemed to have gotten back to normal since May. Help!
