I have looked all over the internet but they think you are renting for vacation or buying a second vacation home (we are definitely NOT). I just want to find a site that will give me realistic pricing and availability on houses or apartments for rent in Aviano, Italy or it's surrouding towns.

You should look for your place through local estate agencies, as Aviano is not a big city and therefore its apartments for rent are not listed in house-hunting websites.
