  1. I have a friend who took bc for many many yrs and once she got off it took her 1 1/2 yrs to get her period again. So oviously during this time she couldn't conceive because she was not ovulating. Once she started getting her period she was able to concieve I think it was within 6 months. Some say accupunture is sure thing to help you get pregnant. Talk to your dr. The accupunture thing I heard that most women who do this and folllow the cycles well w/ there basal body tempature, etc get pregnant within 3 months. Go see you dr.  good luck to you. I hope you get pregnant soon. I too am trying and I know the waiting for that positive test sucks.

  2. the pill can't "cause" infertility.  but it's possible that it could react with an underlying condition.  if a woman has a dodgy endocrine system and her hormones are unstable, then long-term use of the pill (years and years) could make her body dependant on hormone supplementation and unable to regulate on its own.

  3. no, that is not a side effect.

if you are still using it while ttc, yes. i am being silly

  4. No. However, long term use with birth control pills or the patch causes a negative feedback in your body in terms of promoting fertility. Therefore, it may take several months to be able to conceive, but it's not permanent.

  5. I don't think any fertility problems, especially infertility itself being down to using the pill or patch. In fact, when I began trying for baby #1, I was told that after coming off the pill - estrogen levels being altered can mean that you can be more fertile than you would otherwise! Consult a family planning clinic for tests if you want advice or reassurance xx

  6. Some OB/GYN's will answer that ? with a yes,.but then add a huge sentence about how "EXTREMELY" RARE the chances of that happening is..
