My husband and I just purchased our first gas grill and we have an important question.

We know that we are not supposed to disconnect the propane tank while grilling. However, we are unsure whether we have to disconnect the tank after each use (and then reconnect before the next use). Obviously, we know to at least turn the tank off, but we were wondering whether we should also disconnect the hose. Can someone help us?

  1. There is no need to disconnect the hose until the tank is empty.Always check for gas leaks at the connection point after installing a newly refilled tank.Use a solution of water and dish soap around the connection and see if any bubbles appear. If they do retighten the connection.

  2. no just turn k**b thats above tank to off after turning gas k**b to off, thats it. now I like my steak med. rare thanks oh and you can buy a gauge that tells you when tanks getting low on fuel.

  3. There is no need to disconnect the tank line to the grill.  Shutting off the gas valve is sufficient.  It also serves another purpose.  Should your connection leak, shutting off the valve will stop any gas from escaping due to a leaky connection.  Good grilling to you and yours.

  4. You do not have to disconnect anything.  I always turn the know to off on the tank itself along with the grill k***s.  Have fun.

  5. No you do not have to disconnect the tank each time.

Just turning off the valves is enough.

Keep a spare full tank on hand in case you run out of propane while the guests are waiting for the food to cook.

  6. I've used gas grills for 15 years now - never disconnected the tank unless it was empty.  Just turn it off and you'll be fine.

  7. Do not disconnect after use. Always shut off the valve on the propane tank along with the valves on the unit.
