I have told him that I will plan the day-I was thinking about going very romantic and doing a trip to romeo and juliet place and a dinner at

ALFREDO

Legendary Roman restaurant

30 Piazza Augusto Imperatore

Rome, Rome 00186

OR, doing something on the wild side and going to the

SUPPERCLUB

14 Via De'Nari

Rome, Rome 00186

Nearest Train: Colosseo

We have rented a vespa for 2 days and plan to do a "Roman Holiday" thing. We love to swing dance and are VERY open minded about what we do and see- and when in rome- what do we do for V-day?

  1. Go to the trevy fountain by the spanish steps and make a wish the atmasfer on valantines day is great

  2. Sounds like you have things pretty planned out, but are you aware that Verona ("romeo and juliet place") is far from Roma, way up North closer to Venice.

  3. If you mean Romeo and Juliets place (as in the balcony!) thats a long way from Rome! (Verona) Otherwise there is a very famous bridge in rome where lovers put a locket on the lampost then make a wish and throw the key in the river! symbolising eternal love! (By the way not really legal to do the lock thing but you could do something romantic!) Its called Ponte Milvio, i'm sure on valentines day there will be lots of lovers there!

  4. You’ve definitely chosen one of the most romantic places for St. Valentines Day, we’ve been living here for ages and together with Paris, that is where my wife  and I “fled”  one of Europe’s Financial capitals (not fair to say which) for our seven month courting. Nothing has changed much since, only more cars, but you should get by with your Vespa (great idea, but February can get quite cold, tog up with warm sweaters – or alternatively hire a City car – goes by the hour, free parking, the works). As far as the candle light dinners are concerned I’d choose Alfredo alla Scrofa (just as good but cosier), it's very near to the other Alfredo and everybody knows it (via della Scrofa), another romantic little Restaurant near St. Peter’s is one of my favourites, “il Rosticchio”, Borgo Pio 186, then again I would also take a trip out to Fiumicino, the fishing village and try one of the many fish restaurants out there (Bastianelli has two). You absolutely must take a “Caffè macchiato” (dab of milk) at the Tazza d’Oro in front of the Pantheon and after you’ve been to Alfredo a short walk to Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina, with it’s three Caffés for afternoon Tea of Coffee at a table in the square (one even has outside heating). For the week of February 12-20th, there is a lovely Comic-Opera ballet called “The adventures of Pinocchio”, by the Rome Opera Junior Corps (my little Sis graduated there, they have pretty high standards) could really make your evening. An alternative in “serious music” is Santa Cecilia, on Feb.14th there’s the Contemporary music Ensemble; but if you prefer a more “intimate” atmosphere with young people around you, then go to the “Evergreen” Piper Club (opened 1965 still going strong  - my kid brother played first guitar there -  http://www.midra.it/website/piper/) – Rock and all the Latest – pity you’re not here for the Feb.5th Mardì Gras ( in costume). For the rest of your time, don’t make plans, take it easy and discover the small side streets with all the have to offer.

  5. BRING A LOT OF MONEY AND GO EVERYWHERE ROME IS BEAUTIFUL

  6. you def. have to go to la fontana di trevi and throw a coin together! its sooo beautiful! & also get some gelato if your near the panteon. and if you wanna do something wild go to campo di fiori at night its crazy & fun! basically a lot of booze!

but you can NOT leave w/o going to piazza navonna!!! the fountains are gorgeous! the restaurants are amazing! and you'll find some of the hottest clubs in town! have funnn!
