  1. A paper from who?

Hire a lawyer now, take the paper to the lawyer and find out exactly what is going on.

But generally, in CA, a first time DUI is no jail time, lots of fines, alcohol education class and several months without a license.

  2. Well if it were myself, and all, I'd hire a lawyer to ask these type of legal questions, that way your not shocked when you head to court..

  3. Get a lawyer before turning himself in to the police. He can and probably will go to jail. Without an attorney, I think he might be in jail for up to 1 year.
