I forgot to paid my insurance because we were so busy with moving anyway on July 3 I called my agent to reinstate the insurance no just few minutes ago my husband told me some lady hit him from the behind and the van is not driveable and the damage is bad. What will happen?

  1. The person that rear ended him is at fault so your insurance shouldn't be an issue.

  2. You should be covered if you reinstated your insurance on July 3.

However, if someone else ran into him, it would be the other persons insurance that should cover the damage.  You should not have to file a claim at all with your insurance unless the person that hit you was not insured.  Make sure that he gets all of the information from the other driver and also files a police report to prove who hit who.  It should be pretty obvious if he was hit from behind.

Hope that everyone is OK.  Good Luck!

  3. If you reinstated on July 3,  you're covered for today.

  4. Did you tell your insurance company that your husband had been involved in an accident when you reinstated your insurance?  If so, he's covered for the second accident but not the first.

However, if you didn't tell them, you may not be covered, since it could be considered fraud.
