Question:

My husband has a 1995 yamaha virago 750cc, how many quarts of oil does it take for an oil change? thanks?

we never got a manual with the bike and he would like to change the oil, serious answers only, thanks again

  1. More than 3, less than 4 qts.

    Depends on how thorough the oil is drained and whether or not the filter is changed.

    Don't just pour in the recommend amount of oil.

    Put the bike on it's centerstand.

    The oil level inspection window is on the left side of the engine (on the bottom, near the front).

    Add oil until it covers 3/4 of the inspection window.

    Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, to allow the oil to circulate throughout the engine and fill the oil filter.

    Turn off the engine and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the oil to drain back down to the crankcase.

    Check the oil level.

    It should be up to the top line of the window.

    Follow this procedure whenever checking the oil level.


  2. The oil capacity for the 750 Virago is 3.3 quarts with filter

    or 3.2 quarts with out a filter.
