He also has symptoms of Addison's. Can the fluid be drained and will the pituitary start functioning normally then? What causes fluid in the sella?

  1. This is really quite specialised endocrinology - probably best to ask his doctors. Though from experience if the pituitary isn't functioning normally, it doesn't usually recover. The pituitary usually produces some hormones, so the treatment is to replace those hormones - it's simpler than it sounds.
