  1. yes...he has to have his mex passport and his US resident card.


  2. Actually he can enter Mexico with a proof of Mexican citizenship.  And he can return to the U.S. with his green card and photo I.d. ...  only if he is travelling by LAND.. If he is flying, he must have his Mexican passport. It really is better to go to the nearest consulate and get a New Mexican passport..he will need it starting next summer anyway...when passports will be required for all travel across the border.  See site below and read under international travel tsee he can re-enter U.S. with his green card.
