his father is sick and he needs to travel to Poland tomorrow and his Polish passport is expired. he will not have a problem going to Poland. They said he wont have a problem entering back in the US if he travels on a Polish airline, but iam really nervous about that. Is that correct. Do you think he will be able to get back into the us.

  1. no where will let him in or out without a valid passport

  2. I am pretty sure he will need a rentery permit of some kind. He should call the US embassy near you. They may be able to issue one to him right away if you are able to go in person. My husband got some paperwork years ago to come to Hungary when he only had a green card.the problem will be trying to get back into the states if he doesn't have his papers in order. He may be able to work it out in Poland at the embassy but better check before leaving.

  3. Your question was worded incorrectly is he a green card holder or is that you?

Because that's a big difference.  If he has a green card then he can go but first he needs to go to the Polish consulate and get a quick renwal of passport if he doesn't go at least have him call them.  I have the phone # to the one in Chicago (312) 337-8166.

Last I heard the airline won't take him if he has a round trip ticket if his passport expires less than 6 months before trip.
