What is a good career choice to explore? He loves sports and being outdoors also. Salary will be an issue as he needs to get a similar income.

  1. What about some other type of educational system out doors?  Like director of a parks and rec department?  Or maybe a park director period - like someone who organizes events at the park.

If you're in a state that is year-round outdoor weather, literally, a campground type location/park ranger where he could offer camps and activities for children as well as adults.

When I was in 5th grade we went to 2 days of "outdoor education" where we were taught outdoor skills.  I still remember it - learning how to make a box oven, a tuna can burner, etc.

I don't know what he could do outdoors and with sports and make the same salary as a teacher.  The only option I can think of is to become a sports writer for a magazine or paper - the pay is good if you can get in.

    good luck!

  2. coaching

  3. You have to balance the opportunities available with what his skills are.

If he has a math background, he'd probably find more jobs than if he were an English teacher.  He could also put in for supervisory positions for most any utility> they all have people working in the field.  Cable TV seems to where there has been growth.  There are also jobs as oil company representatives that call on service stations.  I would think that would also apply for McDonald's & any other chain operations.

He'd want to stress organizational & people skills I would think.  He would be a bit deficient in dealing with budgets though.

    Good luck
