  1. Its after Ait and when he is with his Unit then you should be able to get quaters or a home on or near base

  2. He cannot live off base with you & you cannot live on base with him until he finished BCT & AIT and is at his first "permanent" duty station and has accompanied orders.

The only real exception is if his MOS school is over 6 months (since you specifically said AIT... this exception will not apply).

  3. That can depend.  For you to be moved at the miltiary's exspense and for him to be eligable to live off base, his AIT will have to last longer than 20 weeks.  Anything shorter is unacommpanied, so if you chose to move to be with him it would be completely out of your own pocket and he most likely would not be allowed to stay overnight with you off base.  Witht he exception of some very long AIT..the language institute is one..there is no base housing for families during tech school.

  4. When I was in AIT, people who were married were actually allowed to live off post with their wife or husband. Housing is a little harder to come by on post so I don't think you can ever do that. But all this also depends on how long his AIT is. Mine was like 9 months long, so that's part of the reason people who were married got that privilege.

  5. Usually No while in AIT. If you want to move there on your own and at your own expense you can (As an American you can live wherever you want).

Depending on the length of AIT, they may allow though. for example if he is going to language school (a one-year school) plus AIT, the Army will let you.

  6. It will depend on how long he is there.  Usually if it is over 22 weeks they will change the orders to accompanied so you can be there.  But other times they do not.  So if it isn't authorized then you will pay to move there yourself.  The BAH will be based on where you are suppose to be and when he does get the orders the military will only pay to move you from where you are suppose to be and nothing more than that.

  7. AIT is Just like basic except you just have a "few" more privilege's. You will not be able to live on base until after he has exited Basic and A school and moved to his first command/duty station depending on the branch. If you are already married he should Get BAH, or housing allowance for you and any kids you have, and if you plan on gettin base housing once he gets out of AIT before he gets his duty station find out the Base he will be on and call ahead of time to apply for base housing because there is usually a pretty heafty list of people waiting to get housing... hope that helped

  8. You can't live on base until your husband completes his BCT/AIT and recieves his first assignment.
