here's the deal, he told me that apparently you can have one if you have three kids BUT i have had two high risk pregnancies and one cesarean section, and one natural birth. would they still tell him he cannot, or would they make an exception in this case? do we have to have three just to have this done and paid for?

  1. I never heard of such a ridiculous rule in my life.  If they won't pay for it I would just pay for it myself.  It would be a lot less expensive then another child (not that kids are not adorable, just expensive)

We have 2 children and our insurance paid for my husband's, but we are not in the service.

  2. Men, especially in the military, can get a vasectomy, no questions asked.  My husband was in the Marines and got one. We only have one child together.  We thought they would give us some trouble about it because we were so young and only had one but it wasn't an issue.

Its recommended that he (and you, if you are willing) take a short class on it just to know how it works exactly.

  3. you can always have one if you are psychologically ready. who pays is up to the insurance companies. in rare cases they are reversible. some folks freeze sperm first as a plan B.

  4. Wrong!  He is being a chicken.  I was in the Air Force.  I had my vasectomy before I joined (and I have no children).  I knew men, in their 20's that had one child, that had vasectomies during active duty.
