  1. A marine corp recruiter told me last week that my 17 year old daughter could join if she had her GED or HIGH SCHOOL equiv diploma.  He said there was a free program for completing the high school course..and there was a free GED program through our local community college.  She had to take lots of pre-tests and classes to qualify to take the ged in the end.  But those resources are definitely out there.  Call a recruiter and ask for advice, they may be aware of programs that we cannot find!

  2. The Army will help him get his GED while in the Army. I can tell you this though . I am a Army wife and When Deployment comes it gets so hard. The not being able to be there for you because he is a GI can be tough. And he will not be your husband any more he will be the army s  first then what little time he has left will be for you . AND THAT IS LITTLE . The army is LIES. I promise. I have been married twice my first one died. And my second one will not be able to be here for me during the birth of our child. If he does join the army tell him to go for a 3 year term just to make sure is likes it. The pay sucks to at private ranks .
