Will she have to report at end of yr her PT job income and $ amount we get from Social Security which is allocated to her? We are concerned with the taxes. Bottom line...do we have to report the disability amt rec. from Gov. Any advice would be helpful. What is the limit a teenager can work before taxes are taken out. thank you!

  1. If the SS is being reported in her SS# you do not report that on your return.  Assuming that you are taking her as a dependent, which may be an issue given her SS and PT income, she need not file a return until she has $5,450 income.  However she may wish to file a return to recover any withholding that may have been taken out of her pay.

  2. To tag onto Mathew's correct answer, the $5450 limit does NOT include the ss payments.
