Jono is turning 50 in July and I want to make this the most memorable party. I am usually pretty good at planning stuff like this, but don't know where to even start this time around. I thought because he loves yachting and maritime that having a party at the yacht club would be fun. Help please it is less than three months away till his birthday.

  1. Play the music of his birth year and invite people to dress in fifties attire.

  2. Ok, you askd Diane so here it is. The Yatch club would be a great place to start. But also keep in mind, the 50th Birhday Tradition is Black. Black everything. Cake and all. I know, I just turned 50 in Jan and still feel 39, even though I stop at 50 and start going backwards. Next year I will be 49.

Take him to a nice place and throw a real bash. You might get a giant cake (not) real of course, instead of a girl jumping out, do something funny, like Uncle Sam. He might get shock out of that. Expecting a woman, and it be good ol' Uncle Sam. Get him a Yatch Model to put together, or something like that.

    I hope this helps.

    Happy Birthday Jono!!

  3. I don't know what to tell you Young people. I am sure anything you do for him, he will be grateful for it. I'll bet you do things everyday that he appreciates. I am having one this month but I am so old I don't want to be reminded.

  4. That sounds like a great place. You could also plan a boat parade in his honor. Have a slide show of as many pictures you could find from the day he was born until now!

Have his favorite foods, candy buffet (his favorite) and favorite drinks!

    It's all about him

  5. My 50th was one of the best days in my life. The wife threw the party at home with all our friends invited. With al the gag gifts of turning over the hill age was great. Your husband would enjoy this.

  6. Hello,

I think you should have Two Parties, one for friends, and the other for yourself and husband. If he like Yachts you can hire them for a day or more.Just think about where you would like be when you do it. Hawaii or just somewhere for the night.

    Look in the telephone book,websites.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNO

  7. Well, since you are thinking maritime, definately go with gold trimmings.  Have everyone wear a yachting outfit.  Make the food all about the water!  Have shrimp, salmon, lots of fresh veggies with dips, salads, sushi, and do a big cake...but a simple one.  Have a plain white cake, maybe several tiers, with gold around the edges and a huge happy birthday sticking out of the top.  Maybe some sparklers when everyone is singing happy birthday.  Hope some of these ideas helped!  I love planning parties...I do alot of them...if you want to e-mail me, I can give you specific recipes, games, ideas...
