  1. it will get better....perhaps you should consider a preplanned time and do a video computer hookup for weekly visits...

also get involved with other wives and join in their discussion groups and get togethers...don't hide away...get out and mingle and live

  2. Certainly not. Usually if you aren't already depressed lots of women become depressed when stuff like this happens. Go online and find groups to talk to that have husbands in the military who are gone. My husband wants back in and if he should be deployed *because I am already severely depressed* I know I will have issues. They have webcams, microphones and stuff to help with that, and find one good friend you can turn to. Good luck! :)

  3. urgh i wish i had that problem =(

my fiance is in afghanistan and i dont usually cry that much or anything.. i think about him 24/7 but it rarely brings me down, and all my friends who have their men deployed make me feel horrible cause they say they cry every night and are always depressed... its like something is wrong with me =(

    so no, you're pretty normal.

  4. I don't think so.  I can only imagine what it feels like for the person you love to head out to Iraq.  The key is to not let depression consume your life.  Just keep in mind that he will return.  Surround yourself with friends and/or family that can help you stay positive and keep you busy. They are the best support you can have.
