  1. how can you send the letter if you dont have an address for him?

    hes fine be patient

  2. wow, i would worry too! My husband is leaving soon and if I didnt get a call or letter I would be going crazy. The other people are right, he is ok, but you cant help but worry. But he is prob really busy, so u should get something soon, good luck

  3. You gotta give it like 2-3 weeks and Im sure you will get a call or letter. You can't write him if you don't have an address. He's been taken care of. Remember he is busy training. It will take time for him to reach you.

  4. In a few days you should get a letter from him, he may have tried to call you already and couldn't get through (happened to me), don't worry he's ok, if he wasn't then the Navy would have him call you(also happened to me), wait till you get his letter because you'll need his exact address

  5. He's fine.  He's really busy right now.  Don't worry.  They will be taking good care of him.

  6. Kiddo, take a deep breath and try to relax.  Phone calls are a priveledge, and are NOT guaranteed at any point, by any branch of the military.  It's typical that it might take 2-3 weeks for the first letter from him to get to you.. so you just need to give it a little time and you'll get that letter!

In the meantime, you should write to him every day... Don't mail them, of course, since you likely don't have his address... but write anyway!  He's extremely busy... I mean, he has NO TIME during the course of the day, at this point, to read or write any letters, stop to catch his breath, or do much of anything else.  these first few weeks are the toughest in boot camp... the letters from you will make it all worth while.   Word of advice?  Don't go on and on about how much you miss him.  Just say, "I miss you, but I'm doing okay, and I know you're gonna do great!"  Burdening him with your worries and how much you miss him is a bad idea.  Mostly because there's nothing he can do about it, so why bother him with it when he just needs to focus on getting through each day... but also because you can't even begin to imagine how much he misses you... and everything else in his life he cherishes... everything that is familiar.  He doesn't just miss you, he misses his whole life!

So.... write, write write... plain white envelopes.  No perfume.  No revealing pictures AT ALL... no girlie stamps or writing on the outside of the envelope.  NOTHING that might bring attention to him during mail call.. he WILL pay the price for that, and it won't be funny!

Oh... last thing?  As a military mom this is one of the toughest things for ME to really learn...  It's commonly saig that "No news is good news."  There's nowhere that is more true than in the Military.  If he's doing well and hanging in there and not having any problems, you probably won't hear anything until week three.  If there's a problem, you'll know it.

  7. When he first arrives at basic they go through receipt day which is where they are issued their gear. the next few days are P-days (processing days). They will get another full physical, dental exam, etc. These P-days can go from 3-10 days. Then basic starts after that. He is really busy and has no time. Get in touch with his recruiter and ask for the address to send him a letter.

  8. he will not be given the chance to call until he is done processing in.  it's a holiday weekend, he's not doing ANYTHING but cooling his heels right now.

you can't send a letter until you get the form in the mail with his address on it.
