  1. i think you just have to go to the social security office and bring proof of your Madden name to get it changed.  I wouldn't think that it would matter about you getting any benefits but you never know.  Try this site, called www.thelaw.com, you might be able to find out something there, or you can call the social security office and ask them.

  2. Your going back to your maiden name, this doesn't change your benefits, everything stays the same, just a name change. I thought about doing this after my divorce of 33 years, for me it was to much like work, and the name kind of grew on me, so I left well enough alone. You can call the S.S. office and they will tell you what I said, nothing changes but the name. Go on line foe the S.S. stuff they have a question and answer web page about this.

The ex works for S.S.Admin. There's a 1-800 you can call too.

  3. It shouldn't affect the benefits. You're not getting remarried, just changing your name. You should check with your local city hall to see how to change your name.

  4. My grandma took her maden name back and she still gets benifits!  I am sorry to hear about your husband

  5. All you have to do is go to SSA and show them your birth certificate. And contact all the others, drivers license, credit cards of the change

  6. Check with an attorney for a name change. I'm not all sure what you need to do, but Social Security can advise you.
