My husband passed away leaving unpaid medical bills, who's responsable for those bills?

If the insurance coverage paid as according to his benefits (you should make sure that they have), and left a patient's responsibility, contact the providers and see if they can offer any financial assistance. If you have no assets, you might want to see if your state's medicaid office could offer any coverage for the unpaid balances (if the services were rendered within the last three months only, though).

hi sorry but you you are if he had no insurance then his estate is responsible.if you had died he would have to pay your debts.have a word with your bank they may help.i see from the latter part of you inquiry he was the primary holder of his insurance you need to look at this to see iffy he was covered 100 PE cent

If the medical bills have been processed correctly by the insurance company it will tell you what your husbands responsiblity was and yes you would be responsible to make that payment to that provider. Sorry!  No easy way to tell you yes.

Normally the debts are presented to the deseased estate representative.  If everything was left to you, then you are the representative unless an executor was named other than you.
