  1. Hi everyone!! Thanks for talking about the protest here!!

Thank you for your donation, I will be updating the donations page this evening so all new donations will show :)

I can't wait for the protest either!!! Its going to be OFF THE HOOK!!!

2 months before the protest we will be launching a letter campaign to all of the legislators in every state across the country so that is DEFINATELY something that you can get involved in if you can't make it to the protest!

To receive the fastest updates on the protest the best thing to do would be to join the mailing list. You can get a daily digest, and its not really active so its only 1 email every few days. We're using it to keep everyone up to date on the protest now and we'll be using it to do the writing campaign as well.

I have to update all pages manually so thats why you're not seeing anything "instantly" I'll be updating the entire site this evening :)

Thank you so much for your support and I can't wait to meet everyone there its going to be AWESOME!!

  7. I'm with Rachael here.  No way can I make it down there.  Can we do an email campaign the day before or something, to boost awareness?  Is there another plan for those who can't make it?

I'm going to go click on that link up above there and see if I can find something out...

I didn't find anything.  Let me/us know if you know of a way I can help out from here.

  8. I am! I am! I am! I look forward to meeting you there!

  9. For Lee - and any others that don't know -

"We propose a one day PROTEST FOR ADOPTEE RIGHTS at the National Conference of State Legislature’s Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday July 22th, 2008. The National Conference of State Legislatures is the largest group of its kind, the national organization of STATE LAWMAKERS, the people who DECIDE whether you may access your records… OR NOT. We propose a mass action of adoptees representing all fifty states, a one-day rally that will be an opportunity for adoptees demonstrate their commitment to adoptee rights and to meet their state delegation."

I SO want to be there and support all my US adoptee friends.

We in Australia have Open Records - and have for years.

Adoptees should have the same rights as every other US citizen.

    22 JULY 2008 - NEW ORLEANS

    BE THERE!!

Oh - and - Red&Sassy - that is SUCH great news that your husband is supporting you in this way. FANTASTIC.

  10. Loads of adoptees first families and adoptive parents

    ADOPTEE RIGHTS IN 2008 YAY

  11. I'm an adoptive parent and my children have the OBC's, but if my daughter would like to attend I think it would be fun for her to meet so many other adopted children.  She's in England right now, but supposed to be back here in May.  I live in Louisiana, so it would just be a day trip for us.  My other daughter lives in CA.  She's the angry child.  If she shows up to visit her sister and her Dad and I, she would definitely want to go.  She has lots of issues with her birth parents.  Maybe she could get some perspective about her own situation meeting so many other adopted people.

So exactly when is it and where is it to be held?
