My husband wants me to dye my hair blonde but I don't want to.?

Ever since discovering that my hair was blonde as a baby my husband wants me to bleach my hair blond cos he thinks that blondes are s**y and he likes to show off that he is married to a white woman.

But I hate blonde and think I would look very ugly as blond. Also bleaching my hair would cause it so much damage.

My hair is black and my husband knew that when we got married. I like my hair as it is so why should have to change it?

My wish my husband was fatter but I don't ask him to gain weight. So shouldn't he have to accept me as I am because he married a black haired woman so it is wrong for him now to demand a blonde.

BTW My husband is Muslim so I ask this question here. Does a wife have to change her looks to please her husband in Islam

I strongly suggest you that you say thees things to him, as you did here: how you feel, you feel ugly as blond, he shouldn't change you, yada, yada, yada. Once the argument is over put on a blond wig just to please him intimately (probably he has that fantasy) and to wear it once in a while when you're out at the grocer's or something like that. Show him how you feel about this and please him a little at the same time, this way he gets somehow his ways and you will not end up doing something you don't like (dye your hair) it's a 50% 50% solution and commitment make sure you draw your limitations towards the wearing of the blond wig before hand.

You can choose to cover up or not, in my country where Islam is the predominant religion we have the option and no one looks at you funny if you do choose to cover up or if you want to go without. I think you should do what you think it's best. If you don't feel comfortable then express it to him. He is your husband and should respect your wishes.

Tell him that our Prophet (SAW) said that a husband without jealousy in regards to his wife is not a very good husband.

Your husband needs to work on his faith.  The fact that he is treating you like a trophy is the most unIslamic thing I have heard in a while.  He should want you to dress modestly and should not even want his friends to see you.

You might try it simply as an experiment -- which would, of course, please hubby.  But if you decide that it is totally gross, you could re-color it darker.  You are under no obligation to accede to his wishes.

Why dont you compromise with him and tell him you will dye your hair blonde when he gets a six pack. lol By the time he tries to work on it he will forget about this blonde fetish he has lol. But you do not have to change yourself for nobody, if you dont feel comfortable dyeing your hair then dont do it!!

I dont think you "have" to. I would try it getting semi-permanent color. I mean it could be a fun change. If you dont like it you can always change it back.
