Perth is very nice, it's clean, sunny and modern but relaxed.

Perth is a fabulous city but the main disadvantage is that it's very isolated and a lot of residents have never seen the other side of Australia (air travel is very expensive). We lived there for two years and I started to get agoraphobia! If that doesn't worry you, you'll love it.

Apart from all the good stuff you've already heard, Western Australia is current going through a boom period. Jobs are plentiful and the growth rate is around 24%. However, the property market is highly depressed so you might strike some difficulty getting suitable accommodation. But it's worth the trip.

Perth is a very beautiful, well thought out city. The way they have planned out the roads are excellent! Your husband will be fine. =]
