Question:

My iPhone 3G displays "bright spots" in the bottom corners of the screen. How should I get this fixed?

I just received my iPhone 3G a little less than a week ago, and I'm loving it. However, when I make a call or watch a video against a dark screen, there are 2 bright spots appearing on the bottom corners of the screen. One much more bright and space consuming than the other. Anyway, it's very irritating and I want to get a new phone. (I can't take the risk of sending out my phone for over a week to get it repaired. I need my phone.)

I'm planning to take it to the AT&T store tomorrow morning (from which I bought it from), but what's the solution for the problem?

Is this under the warranty? Will they be able to send out a new phone for me, or can they only repair it?

  1. its a dead/frozen pixel. This is a very common defect with the 3g iphone. It is a manufacturer defect, so it is covered under warranty.

When you take it back and they give you a new one, before you leave the store check for:

cracks on the case (most notably around the camera and headphone jack)

    Rainbow streaks on the screen

light leak (youll be able to see light in between the bezel and screen)

go to a light website to check for thumbsized dark spots.

    dust under the screen

    off center screen

check to see if your gps is functional

whatever store you bought it at should replace it
