My iPhone exits me out to the home screen why does it do that?

it does it sometimes, the screen goes black exept for the top bar that tells you the time battery status..... N it takes me 2 the home screen... If you can please help....

Have you jailbroken your phone? Its probably one of the apps you downloaded for it so I would try uninstalling some of the more recent apps.
