My iPod nano battery?

I don't get it! I charge it for hours and then when I use it sometimes I can't turn it on (that's what she said) and sometimes I can but then the battery dies in like 10 minutes.. What should I do? =( Thanks. <3

when u charge it does it say charging??

if it does hold the menu button and the center button together for 8 sec. till it resets than wait for it to load then it should work.
