My iPod nano isn't responding to the charger

My iPod nano died, so I tried charging it as usual, but nothing is happening when I plug it in. I don't think it's the charger. What else could be wrong with it and how can I get it to charge?

Maybe the ipod is really uncharged just plug t in and wait a while.
