My iPod stopped working all the sudden. ?

It won't turn on and when I connect it to my computer, it says that I need to restore it but when I try to do that it says an error occurred. I got it for Christmas so it's not the old. Any ideas on what wrong with it?

you have to go to the apple store or wherever you got it from..... they will replace it. tell them exactly what happend.
