  1. It is best to feed them in the morning so they have all day to warm up and digest.

  2. He shouldn't.... just to be safe, try not to, if you aren't so sure about it.

    Hope this helped=)

  3. Umm.. it shouldn't.

Just be sure to feed him plenty of veggies. Every once and a while throw a couple of crickets in their or give him some meal worms - he will be fine!

  4. Young iguanas still trying to get used to its new home w/ us humans, it is best to leave fresh food over night before there lights go out, they feel more "comphy" per say because us humans aren't hovering over watching them eat type of thing. For young iguana new owners, I would recommend feeding at least 3 times a day, not that they eat that much (some may only eat a few tablespoons), but morning, late afternoon, and then overnight ... overnight just so it is more "fresher" then the late afternoon meal would be if it was to sit for hours.

Older iguanas do prefer eating before lights go out, and hopefully your feeding your iguana more then once a day, but it is perfectly fine to leave food in your iguanas enclosure overnight.

My girl eats in the morning after her bath time (915/930am), then again for her night time food (300/330pm), she eats 2 cups at both servings. Sometimes she'll eat all her night time food, sometimes she doesn't. There has been times when she left food in her night time dish and in the morning I can tell that she ate some over night or when lights came on. that's if she left any food at all.

Yes, they do need basking temps (92-96F) to digest there food, but again you have to know what age group the iguana is in. If my girl was only fed in the morning, she'd starve by night time, and she is est 2 years old. And her night time feeding is late afternoon, so she still has heat/light to digest her food.

Iguanas can eat and eat as much as they want or as less as they want, yes they do need proper temps to digest there food, but again, if it is a young iguana still trying to get used to it's new human slaves, then it is best to leave overnight food after lights go out so they can eat and feel "comphy".

Crickets and other bugs are NOT the proper diet even once a week for iguanas. Crickets and other bugs are animal protein and iguanas should NOT have any of those in there diet.

  5. depends how low the temperatue gets at night because if it gets too low the food won't digest that good and it might actually begin to rotten in the iguanas stomach...but if the night temperature is in the high 70's or low 80's late fedding shouldn't be a problem
