Question:

My inboard Mercury 5.0l wont start....help?

So here's the deal...every thing lights up just fine...so I know the battery is fine. I turn the key and nothing...I can her a single click and that's it....not like the dead battery clik. Really just nothing happens....any Ideas. please help.

  1. Make sure that all of the connections are clean and tight on both ends of the battery wires before replacing  any parts.

    If you are certain the battery is fully charged,  you have a bad  solenoid or starter motor.


  2. on my engine . the wire from the battery to where it attached to the starter had to be cleaned and tightened.

    Of course the battery terminals must be clean so check both ends of those wires.
