My integra wont start!?!?

Question

my little 1993 integra won't start.

i thought it may be the battery so i decided to jump start the car

but when i tryed to start it , it wont even make a noise or that clicking sound.

although when i connected the jumper cables my car had its lights working.

just wondering if it would be the starter? and how would i know if it is the starter . or something eles?

do all the lights on dash disappear when you turn it over? this would be normal

does the dome light fade out? this would be you didn't have enough juice to be able to turn the motor over

has it been sitting awhile? then you could have other potential problems with it

You said you didn't notice any of the lights, so does that mean none of them turn on? If they don't then you could have an Ignition switch problem, this is normally located on the steering column shaft behind the plastics, it would be almost straight up from the brake pedal when you remove the plastic to view.... your headlights coming on just tells me that you are having juice in the system, but it is critical to have some dash lights that will come on, i.e. battery light, service engine light, air bag light, something that normally comes on when you turn the ignition switch all the way to the "ON" position should be showing

i would remove the battery and slow charge it for 12 hours min then have it tested

first thing is try cleaning the battery cables and try jumping again if the battery is dead it wil have to set on there a while like ten minutes or longer sometime to get enough charge to start.... clean the cables always first .. check the belt for dry or cracks or loose... if then it dont replace battery and then after that the starter most likely the cables dirty just remove them and scrape the inside of them with any thing to get them shiney again and try again and make sure they tight and try jumping again.. starter would be the last thing to check or replace
