  1. That is pretty slow if your paying for high bandwidth. I have a cable internet line that gets 2.5 to 3 mbps and I also have a Verizon air card for my laptop and it gets 800-1200 kbps. If you have DSL lite "$19.99 a month" then your getting what you paid for. If your paying for full DSL or Cable interenet "$40-60 a month" then I would contact the service provider and have them check out your cable and signal strength at your location.

  2. My download speed is 2mbps and upload speed is 1mbps.

    So I would say not.

  3. No way mine's lots faster.

  4. It is much faster than dialup, but on the low price/speed end of current DSL or cable.  It depends how many PC's you have connected and what they do.  That can be fine for a single PC, unless you want to do something else while downloading very large files.

Maximum available speed for DSL can be limited by how long the wires are to the central office (CO) or remote terminal (RT).  I got my phone line moved from CO 12,000' away to RT <1600', so I could upgrade to a faster speed level.

  5. That sounds like the minimum for DSL or Cable.

Mine is 7M download and 1.5M upload.
