My internet disconnects

Question

exactly every hour my internet disconnects

if i was to go on another site or refresh it says this page can not be displayed..

then i restart my computer..and the internet works again ..until 1 hr reaches again

..it turns off again

anybody know the problem

it would be a huge help thank you

Sounds like you are experiencing an ethernet cable malfunction.  Could be a loose wire since the computer is designed to cancel connection due to low frequecy signals.  In otherwords, you should call your internet provider!

HeHe this is going to sound dumb but i had the same problem once. Hopefully yours isn't the same. My router wasn't plugged in and was running on it's self battery. It disconnected periodically because of low battery life. Make sure yours is plugged in. (i know, i'm an idiot) :)

If it's exactly 1 hour then I'd do a virus scan. It could be a virus or someone doing it.

Something with your IP address I would imagine.  Did you change the settings on a router recently?  Maybe reset the router back to factory settings?

Do you have a ADSL modem, if so turn off the voice answering service because they can twist the lines when the service is checking for voice mails.
