My internet doesn't work?

My comp need tp be rebooted and i did, but i can't get on my internet. The wireless internet reads, but when i plug it in directly to the router it doesn't even read it, i'm clueless, i talked to my cable provider and he said it has something to do with block 80, help me?

  1. is modem dsl light on

    if you have modem install cd run it again, you need to connect a password to your isp

    for wifi you need to set up security key for the modem and your pc

    for plug in directly if its usb lead you need usb drivers installed from the cd

    for ethernet lead you need to configure your internet connection using network connection - properties tcp/ip set to obtain ip address automatically

    make certain you have a filter installed in phone line - disconnect all phones and only connect modem to check


  2. Your cable provider might have mean that the port 80 is being block that is why you can't access the internet.

    to check if you can'r really connect to internet, go to start>run>type cmd and OK.

    type ping www.yahoo.com

    after typing, you should get a reply.... not Request Time Out. If you receive Request Time Out, it means that you really need to do something with your router. Let the cable provider fix it.
