My internet keep restarting.I am running on a adapter and the modem and router is in the next room over.?

Can you please tell me what is going on,because when i am trying to download something it stops in the middle,and it does this often.

First unplug the modem then the router..  then shut off the pc. let everything set for about 1 minute. plug in the router first let it reset. (about 1 minute to reset) then plug in the router. let it reset .. (about 30 seconds) then turn on your pc.. this will reset everything to default.. if you are still having trouble.. call your internet service provider..
