My ipod keeps jumping and skipping?

Question

like when im listening to music it will skip ahead in the song like one second occasionally

its pissing me off

its a 80g classic if that makes a difference

its only started doing it recently as well.

My question to you is it on ALL songs or just some? If it is some is it Foo Fighters or Citizen Cope by chance? As these cds have copy protection on them and will skip when copied unless you disable the copy protection by holding down the shift key when inserting the disk to copy. If you have already copied the music, then there is a chance that a copy protection program is running on your computer. Check out this site_http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~jhalderm/cd... it will walk you through getting the program off your computer.

If this is not your problem then you just need to reset your ipod.

do you use itunes or limewire or bearshear,, i used limewire and bearshear and it did thhat to me 2 but i switched to itunes and its all good  now..i duno you circumstances but hope this helps!!or restart it like turn it off and push the middle button and the bottom button

when mine did that i had to let it charge for a while... even though it said it was charged.

after that it worked
