My ipod stops randomly when I'm playing a song

my ipod stops randomly when

im playing a song

how can i fix it

mine does this at random times.  My personal theory is that there is a static electricity build up.  obvously the "touch" that controls the thing senses something from our fingers.  When it gets charged up from being in your pocket I think that messess it up.  Not sure how to solve it

This happened to me the 2nd day I owned my iPod Nano 5th gen. All i did was look at the above advice, hold down menu and select for 6-10 seconds, then its was fine. Thanks everyone for the great advice.

I had a problem with my ipod nano where it wouldn't play ANY of the song of any of my playlist, and resetting it made it work again! So thanks :]

The suggestions of resetting the ipod worked for me! My ipod would stop playing a song (every song) in the middle of it, but since resetting my ipod, it hasn't happened again.  Does anyone know why exactly why it would do that? I'm thinking it may be a hardware issue...

My ipod just started doing that do.  It will randomly stop playing in the middle of a song.  When I press the play button it starts again.  I am going to try and reset it.  I asked my teenage daughter and a teenage friend if they knew what is happening.  Neither one had a clue.
