Question:

My ipod video 30GB wont charge?

but every time i connect it to a laptop it has the message that says "Please Wait. Very Low Battery." and the loading just keeps going in circles. i charged it for more than 5hours already even if it didnt show any sign. and still nothing. i changed the battery already. what should I do now? please i need simple instructions and not links.

  1. Have you tried to charge it with an AC powered charger to see if it would charge? (if you don't have an Apple charger, most Wal Marts, etc usually have small USB chargers that you can just plug your cable into usually around $20.  Handy for anything that can charge its battery through a USB port)

    Did this happen before you put in the new battery?  You might try to re-seat the battery cable in the connector.  

    In my iPod refurb/repair business, I've found that sometimes the battery connector can come unsoldered from the board.  It's a pain to fix, but it's fixable.  Email me if you need more help with the problem, like if re-seating the battery cable in the connector didn't work.

    Now... if it works and comes on and even appears to charge with an AC charger, doesn't attempt to charge or still does the low battery thing when connected to the computer after you've left it to charge at least overnight, the main board is toast.  Again, email me if you need a walkthrough and nothing else has worked.
