My ipod won't connect to itunes! HELP!!! (please read inside)

Question

I am going on holiday tomorrow and i really need help quick because every time i open itunes after about 10 mins it connects to my ipod but it comes up with just a normal ipod not 'Alicia's Ipod' what it usually says and a box comes up saying u have to either restore ur ipod or disconnect n reconnect so i tried the second thing but it didn't work!

I really don't want to restore it back to factory settings and lose all my songs and stuff but if that is the only option then i will have to please can you tell me if there is another way?

even my ipod nano stopped responding to i tunes and i was getting messages like my ipod was corrupted and i should restore but even after restoring it still wouldn't  work and the battery wouldn't charge properly

after i used the software from the above link it started working like new!!!

Well you can restore it!, because all your songs etc are on your ipod library

This will help cause this happened to my friend ans she just re synced the ipod!
