  1. You are hitting fat and thin not your clubs see a PRO .

  2. Sounds Like a gripping problem.  Your grips may be worn so when you strike the ball it could be turning slightly in your hand. Also, if you've tried choking up on the club at all or changed to a locking pinky grip then you've essentially changed the length of the shaft and could either be striking the ball at the toe or the heel.

  3. Put the ball in your stance where the club is making contact with the ground.  I always take a practice swing to see where the club would make contact with the ball.  You make contact with the ball then make the divot.

  4. In the meantime, here's a drill for you as a gift (so to

    speak...)

    Try this grip.

Hold the club as you usually would and look down on it.

Now let me ask you a couple questions...

Can you see the first three knuckles of your left hand?

Can you see the fingernails of our right hand?

If the answer to either of those two, tiny questions are "no" you

    got problems.

The anti-slice grip is one that is natural and what I call

"neutral" Learn this grip ASAP to stop slicing the ball in a hurry.

That should hold yo over until you get a hold of the Body Golf

    Slice Busting Video.

As far as hitting it fat goes...it means that you have a lazy

right side. You're not geting your belly through the ball.

Do this drill for that little problem.

Go to the range and set up to hit some short irons.

Once you're warmed up, try this...

As you finish your swing, take a step toward the target with your

right foot. What I mean is that I want you to pretend that you're off balance

    and walk through the swing-through.

This is one of the magic three drills that vaporized my slice and

got me on the road that brought me here (in ten minutes) over 12

    years ago.

  5. Gary

both problems are caused by not shifting your weight to your left side(assuming right handed golfer) on your finish.  Also perhaps you are trying to lift the ball with your irons which causes you to be unable to shift your weight. To correct this: weight goes to the inside of the right foot on the backswing .  You strike down on the ball and take a small divot after the ball and your weight shifts to the your foot but not on your heels.  For practice you can do the Gary Player walk thru on the swing where you actually take a step forward with your right foot as a continuation of the swing.  Practice this on the range first of course.

  6. Are your practice swings consistent in location through the grass?  (depth, and distance from feet)

If it is, then try to take your real swing fairly quickly after practice, and try to swing same tempo and strength as your practice swing.  A lot of people get psyched out and rethink their actual shot.

    Relax, and take your swing.

if practice swings are inconsistent, think about what is moving up and down...shoulders (back straighting), knees bent to straight etc.  That is usually what gets me when my divots are inconsistent

    good luck!

  7. Start your dn swing by turninng open your left hip,and keep your center of gravity still. You may need to slow your bk swing dn a bunch.

  8. SHORT ANSWER TO AN EASY PROBLEM LISTEN HERE FIRST PLEASE!

    1) make sure you are standing the correct distance away from the ball

    2) this is if your a more intermediately trained golfer. This sounds like the ideal case of you SLIDING with your hips instead of ROTATING. pay attention to your waist line next time you go out to the range. Make sure in your backswing your hips don't slide but rather your belt buckle points from your right hip and ROTATES back around to point at your target. THIS IS PROBABLY YOUR PROBLEM. Sliding cause you to have to readjust with your hands and try to hit the ball with your arms and hands because you are essentially moving and still trying to hit the ball. You probably hit it thin, fat, low, high, slice, hook, etc. but believe you have a pretty good grasp on the game and feel frustrated that it doesn't work for you. I say that because that was my problem. Even if everything is perfect, as soon as you slide you have lost the battle and might as well no nothing about the swing. THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM I PROMISE. Even if you don't pick me for best answer let me know how you do after you check this out. If i could bet money i would.
